The Section below contains a Portfolio of  past projects.

This case involved a client purchasing an old farmhouse building  in a spectacular location on the rugged Kerry coastline.

The purchaser engaged a local architect Kevin Murphy to design an extension that  retained the tradional frontage to the public roadway, but then  provided a series of contemporay additions to the rear stepping down to the sea.

Following extensive contacts with and attempts to meet the requirements of  the local planning authority, Kerry County Council refused permission for the proposal on this sensitive site.

The applicant's architect then engaged the services of Manahan Planners who appealed the decision to An Bord Pleanala.

Despite the Inspector recommending refusal, the Board granted permission, having regard to   the existing residential use on site, the proposal to upgrade the waste treatment plant on site and the quality of the architectural proposal which will ensure the proposal is integrated into the site.
